Welcome Parents!
As a parent, you own the precious responsibility of creating an environment that fosters your child’s development of talent, skill, discipline, expressiveness, and joy. As a team at the Animato Suzuki Violin Program in Greenbelt, we offer to assist you in this endeavor.
Why do we observe?
Observation is a requirement before beginning lessons. It allows you and your child to gain a more thorough understanding of our program’s expectations, from its activities to its behaviors. It also allows the teacher assess the readiness of your child to begin lessons. Lastly, observation can be a strong motivating source for many students.
Individual Lessons
All lessons should be attended by the practicing parent. This parent will serve as an extra set of eyes and ears and will have the responsibility of working closely with his/her child at home to help recreate the lesson in daily practice. Musical learning is best promoted in a calm, quiet, and respectful atmosphere. Thus teachers and parents must work together to preserve this environment; if there are distracting siblings, the parent is asked to remove the sibling until s/he is calm.
Group Classes
Like the individual lessons, the parent is required to stay for the Group Class. Group Class is a vital part of a child’s musical growth and development and attendance is mandatory. Benefits of the Group Class include ensemble experience, working as a group towards a goal, learning leadership and how to follow cues. It develops focus, responsibility, self-awareness, cooperation, and motivates students through observation of more advanced students.
